Meet Our New Directors
The Director position is a new role at KSM. Each Director will maintain focus on their specific service offerings and teams, while also collaborating to integrate tax technical expertise with skills in return preparation and reconciliation, leveraging technology-driven processes and efficiencies.
Monica Balderrama, CPA
Director, Compliance
With over 20 years of experience in motor fuels and sales and use tax, Monica has built a reputation for her client-focused approach and deep industry knowledge. Her dedication to helping clients navigate the complexities of tax compliance has been invaluable, and we are excited to see her continue to elevate our compliance services in her new role as Director.

Director, Consulting
Pham brings extensive tax technical expertise to her new role as Consulting Director. With over 20 years of experience in motor fuels tax and Big 4 SALT, her ability to navigate complex tax issues and provide strategic solutions has made a significant impact on our clients' success. We look forward to the continued excellence she will bring to our consulting service offering.
Phalong Macedo
Director, Tax Technology
We were delighted to welcome Phalong back to KSM last year after a 6-year stint in Big 4! With a wealth of experience in the implementation of ERP systems and tax determination and reporting solutions, Phalong will lead our efforts to further integrate tax technology solutions for our clients. Her return and promotion signal an exciting period of advancement in our tax technology service offering.
Senior Manager Promotion
Amy Herman, CPA
Senior Manager, Sales & Use Tax
We are also pleased to announce the promotion of Amy to Senior Manager, Sales & Use Tax. Amy's experience, which includes seven years at KSM plus 16 years of SALT experience at Big 4 and the Texas Comptroller, has been instrumental in our natural expansion into sales and use tax services over the last three years. Her new role will allow her to continue making significant contributions to both our team and the clients we serve in motor fuels and sales and use tax.
